About USDr. Linda Travelute holds a doctorate in clinical psychology and spent 35 years leading teams of 500 or more before becoming an advisor to the C-suite.
She works with CEOs, CHROs, CLOs, and boards in regulated and people-intensive organizations — credit unions and financial services, healthcare, government, utilities, law firms, manufacturing, and hospitality — on one question: are the leaders you’ve named as ready-now actually ready?
A succession plan tells you who is next. It cannot tell you who is prepared. Linda assesses the difference and builds the bench that closes it.
In a hospital system, a municipality, a utility, or a law firm, or a credit union, a leadership gap isn’t just an operational inconvenience — it’s a board-level exposure. Linda’s clients are organizations where the cost of an unready leader is measured in more than turnover.
HOW THE WORK RUNS
The approach starts at the organizational level. Before assessing any individual, Linda diagnoses the conditions around them — trust, alignment, clarity, and the gap between what the CEO believes is true of the culture and what the team actually experiences. That discrepancy is usually where a stalled bench originates.
From there the work moves to individual readiness: multi-rater 360 feedback, structured interviews, decision-history review, and evidence scored against the demands of the specific role.
Development follows the diagnosis, not the other way around. The Bench Program is the twelve-month partnership that closes the gaps.
BOTH SIDES OF SUCCESSION
Linda also advises individual executives moving through selection — CEO candidacies, C-suite appointments, and internal promotions. How a candidate is being read by the board versus how they intend to be read, the questions behind the questions, and the first ninety days where most appointments are won or lost.
She advises the organization or the individual in any given succession — never both.
BOARD AND STRATEGY
Linda facilitates board retreats, strategic planning sessions, and multi-year visioning work for boards and executive teams. These rooms are frequently where the succession question surfaces for the first time — a board sets a three-year direction, then recognizes it does not have the bench to execute it.

01. Diagnose
Before we assess any individual, we diagnose the conditions around them: trust, alignment, clarity, and the gap between what the CEO believes is true of the culture and what the team actually experiences. That discrepancy is usually where a stalled bench originates.
02. Assess
Then individual readiness. Multi-rater 360 feedback, structured interviews, and decision-history evidence, scored against the demands of the specific role — not against a generic leadership profile.
03. Build
Then development, and only then. Twelve months of the Bench Program, closing the gaps the diagnosis found. Development follows diagnosis. Never the other way around.
